Platforms & radios

What DX Pro runs on,
and what it works with.

Every computer, radio, controller and mode we are designing for, with its status today. If it says Available, it is in the development builds now. If it says In development or Planned, it is not — yet.

Available in the current builds In development being written and tested Planned on the roadmap
Computer

A native Windows application

DX Pro is one native application, not a web page or a bundle of helpers. It is written for Windows first, with the remote Server role written portably so it can run on small Linux machines at the radio.

Windows client

  • Windows 10 and 11, 64-bitThe full DX Pro client: every widget, every workspace.
    Available
  • Touch screensEvery control is at least 44 px, nothing depends on hovering, drag with a finger, long-press for a tip.
    Available
  • Second monitorsAny widget pops out to its own window — put the panadapters on one screen and the cluster and FT8 widgets on another.
    Available

Other systems

  • Linux and Raspberry Pi 5 — Server roleDX Pro running at the radio as a Server for remote operation, written portably for Linux and the Pi 5.
    Planned
  • Mac or Linux desktop clientNot promised. We would rather say so now than sell on a hope.

Radios

Radios DX Pro works with

DX Pro talks to SDRs directly, so the receivers, panadapters and DSP are its own — not a copy of another program's screen.

Apache Labs ANAN & openHPSDR Hermes-class

  • Protocol 1 and Protocol 2Receive and transmit, with the full transmit chain: EQ, dynamics rack, VOX, keyer, CQ caller, QSO recorder, monitor scope.
    Available
  • Up to seven receivers at once on HermesEach with its own panadapter, DSP, notches, EQ and audio strip.
    Available

FlexRadio (SmartSDR API)

  • Receive and panadapterWorks with FlexRadio receive, using the radio's own FFT for the panadapter.
    Available
  • Transmit controls and second-slice splitShown greyed until tested on Flex hardware.
    In development

TCI radios

  • Expert Electronics SunSDR, AetherSDRCompatible with TCI radios as radio sources.
    Planned

Conventional transceivers

  • CAT controlConventional transceivers controlled over CAT.
    Planned
  • Hamlib rigctldIn and out — DX Pro using rigctld, and other programs using DX Pro through it.
    Planned
Controllers

Hardware, built in

The Hardware Hub widget handles controllers without extra software. Learn mode: touch the control and it is mapped.

MIDI

Knobs, faders and buttons on MIDI controllers.

Available

HID

Foot switches and button boxes — PTT under your foot.

Available

Stream Deck

Works with Elgato Stream Deck through DX Pro's built-in bridge on WebSocket 7742 / HTTP 7743.

Available

Touch

The screen itself: big VFO Wheel, touch keyer paddles, pinch and drag to zoom.

Available
Remote

Remote operation Planned

DX Pro will run in two roles: a Server at the radio and a Remote anywhere else. The same widgets, the same layouts — the radio is simply somewhere else.

  • Peer-to-peer first — a direct connection, at no monthly cost.
  • Relay when P2P cannot connect — £4.99/month, only if you need it.
  • Server on Linux or Raspberry Pi 5 — written portably for a small box at the radio.

Licences for remote

Each machine needs its own licence seat — one for the Server at the radio and one for each Remote. A licence is £99, perpetual, one machine.

Digital modes

Decoders written in-house

DX Pro's decoders are written from the published protocols and run inside the application, straight off your receivers.

FT8 decode

91 % of a 140-signal off-air test set with no false decodes; multi-pass with subtraction and a callsign hash table.

Available

FT4 decode & FT8/FT4 automation

FT4 decodes cleanly to about −14 dB SNR now. Automation brings a reply list, auto-sequence, an automated run with a TX watchdog and ADIF auto-log.

In development

More modes

Further digital modes, also written in-house.

Integrations

Working with other programs and services

Audio and spots

  • TX audio from a virtual cableThe Transmit widget takes your microphone or a virtual audio cable, with a monitor output.
    Available
  • Skimmer serviceCW and FT8 spots from your own receivers.
    In development
  • PSKReporter uploadCompatible with PSKReporter: your decodes reported automatically.
    In development
  • Local cluster portYour spots offered to other programs on your network.
    In development

Logs and control

  • ADIF auto-logFT8/FT4 contacts written as ADIF for the logger you already use.
    In development
  • TCI serverThird-party programs using DX Pro as their radio.
    Planned
  • Hamlib rigctld in and outFrequency and mode control to and from other software.

Your radio isn't listed?

Tell us what you run. Requests help us plan which radios come next. Use the support page to get in touch, and include the radio model and how it connects (network, USB or serial).

Check it with your own hands.

Try it in your browser in the live demo, then buy one perpetual licence — £99, one machine.
